Relief of Daedalus and Icarus Ancient Greek Roman Mythology Cast Marble Statue
$69,90
Daedalus was the archetypal engineer par excellence. Perhaps he was born in Athens, son of a certain Motion. Later he went to Crete, welcomed by king Minos; for the latter he built the Labyrinth. He was confined in the Labyrinth together with the son Icarus and he escaped from it by building artificial wings that caused the son’s death while he reached Sicily. From there he went to Sardinia where he probably died.
Our relief is based on the famous relief of Daedalus and Icarus which is exhibited in Metropolitan Museum of Art.
